Date: Saturday July 2nd (suits most that are involved in planning)
Venue: Anil (Ohnidog) has offered to host. Will post details closer to the time by PM
so a few of use were talking about this and think this could be a great idea during the summer, it's a big thing over in the states and given that a lot of members that can make more than a decent brew, makes sense to give this a go.
What is a Potluck?
Theme for this will be Barbecue and Session beers.
For now just getting a list of names together and restricting this to full NHC members (just as it's not a public venue)
If you're interested in getting involved, put your name down and say what you can potentially bring too. Homebrew of course is an option but if we have 20 people bringing 20 batches of beer and no food.... we're doing it wrong :P So just gauging interest now and will drill out the specific "who's got to bring what" later.

Btw. If anyone has a smoker/s they can bring, let me know and we can set it up the day before and stick on a couple of pork shoulders and briskets. I only have a kettle bbq myself so the most I could manage at once would be 1 large shoulder.

Yeah thats no worries at all Des and the same goes for everyone else ... It should probably say so in the original post, but the original idea was that SWMBO would be included....it's a bbq but it doesn't have to be a sausage fest!!

I've separated the hot dishes into the various different cooking mediums below so we know how much space we need to devote to grilling, smoking, etc.
Grilled On BBQ: Juicy Lucy burgers, Turkey Burgers, Marinated Pork or Prawns, Halumi Skewers
Bullet Smoker(with or without smoke depending on dish): Wings, Bratwurst, Pastrami, Smoked Ribs
Cooker: Fionns Fish Dish
Reheat Oven/Microwave: Mapo Doufu, Pav Bhaji, Chilli
Let me know if you would prefer your dish cooked in a different medium to the one its listed in above
Grilled On BBQ: Juicy Lucy burgers, Turkey Burgers, Marinated Pork or Prawns, Halumi Skewers

I'll be pre-smoking the pastrami and just finishing it off on the day so that will free up a good bit of space. The only thing is you'd need to stick them on pretty early since they'll need a while

Think we'll just serve up things as they come off the grill. Since the smoker will end up being used for multiple things with different cooking times etc. It might actually be best to have the ribs prepared ahead of time as opening and closing the smoker is going to extend the cooking time. What do you think?
