Title: Hop ID

Was given a Hop plant for my birthday label was all in German but did not give the name of the Hop.
It is growing now can this Hop be indentified by the leaf ?

it came from Johns Town Garden Center asked and they just same Humulus Lupulus for beer making

Better chance of IDing when it cones. For example, how early or late it crops, size and compactness of cone, then of course the aroma and flavour characteristics. I reckon that by October, between us, we'll be able to identify a family area of your hop. Otherwise, short of genetic jiggery pokery, there's not much else to be done!
