Title: Fermenter ?
Post by: galway on May 21, 2016, 09:33:08 PM
Hello  everyone!
Just wondering is it OK to use the same fermenter for beer and wine (obviously sanitising in between). I have 2 fermenters for wine and a coopers fermenter. Not to sure about the coopers one as there is no airlock.I transferred acoopers larger brew today from coopers fermenter (it was in fermenter for 2 weeks) to a keg but there seemed to be some floating debris in it.it tasted OK so fingers crossed it will be alright
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

No fraid not for beer and cider, now you are going to ask me why and I seem to recollect it's to do with taints from wine and cider into beer and vice versa, google it and I'm sure you'll find the answer.
With buckets so cheap now in any case why take the risk with an expensive wine kit
