This brew was not without it's issues which were user error. My roller mill would not crush the grist for this brew i think because i made a boo boo and mixed the 1kg Cornflakes in with the rest of the grain bill. The grain bill would not run through the roller mill even though both rollers spun freely when hopper was empty.I had to break out my old Corona mill which ripped through it but different crush so that may account in part for the SG being out of whack. Also because of the cornflakes being crushed into grist the mash got badly stuck after both first and second runnings. This meant i had a lot of extra crap in the boiler, which in turn meant i had to leave probably 0.5lt extra behind in bottom of boiler post boil. ;D
All in all bar the extra loss of 0.5lt things went pretty well. The SG of 1055 was way above the 1045 BS had estimated, not exactly sure why so high but that was the only out of whack end result so far. :D
Cornflakes have all the best stuff ripped out and iron added in, flaked is just as cheap in HBS!
Lesson to all about milling ingredients seperate my there as well, subtle sin grain size and texture. Didn't need to mill cornflakes though

All true and purely down to my lack of attention in mixing the cornflakes in with the grain bill.Something came up and i was not able to put in an order to HBC and already had the rest of the grain bill weighed out, basically i thought feck it and see.If i get any funny off flavours i will have a good idea why now.
On a side note i am still glad i did the batch as i now know my roller mill is fubar, at least for the moment. Also i dropped Brewhouse efficiency to 75% for this batch which seems to be getting better results. ;D
RE your mill being foobarred, try adding 2% by weight of water to the grain bill using a spray bottle. Wait 20 minutes & try mill it. I suspect it will mill fine.

Might not be a bad idea to double check the gap in the mill while your at it.
