Title: Bargain Alerts
Post by: Beerbuddha on July 14, 2016, 11:14:17 AM
Hi ...just quick idea

As homebrewers we have great bargain alert post I have posted on it and it's a great tool to have.

Can we have a bargain alert aimed at the companies that sell products to homebrewers only as there target.

No promotions from vendors just us consumers as I'm lost with the hype from this store or that store and I do believe allot products come from same manufacturing company so it should be easy.

For example...shop 1 sells nut 1..2 Euro and shop 2 sells same but 2 cent cheaper without interference from vendors....just an idea .

We can also say the nut I bought from vendor 2 was cast iron and not stainless steel for example. It's a no brainer for us homebrewers of Ireland I believe.

But I'm sure there must be objections .......

I forwarded a motion to have a members only area 3 years ago, members only no commercial vendors.
Pob brought something similar to Agm 2 years ago and it was approved but never enacted.

No such thing as a bad idea. :-[

I like the idea of a no vendors area but surely it'd be impossible to implement as they could just join as private members anyway.

Yes, a members only For Sale could be bypassed by the shop giving a tenner to become a member.
The current system has each shop restricted to one thread each.
This allows them to show their latest offers etc, while also providing the NHC with a direct communication line to each of them  for customer service, questions etc.
This cut out almost 240 spam threads and restored peace.
For anyone that does not want to see these remaining shop threads we added an 'ignore' function to the thread list.
You just need to tick 'Ignore Topics' on the far right like below:
