THANKS ch for posting this , really great reading... now im raging I missed the group buy, i ve gone tro a few of the pen type meters and they need calibration before every brew in my experience.

Would I be right in thinking that the really important bit for idiots like me would be the the very last table 3 is what matters - i.e. maybe a guide for modifying pH ?

You really have to suck it and see, those additions are their experiments and are only there as an indication.
Beersmith and other web calc guesstimates for your mash pH are just that, in the same way that your look at the road rather than just blindly following a Sat nav verify with a pH meter.
