I found 2 bottles of Schneider Aventinus(now called Tap 6) whilst clearing out bits and pieces in my brother's cellar. The best before date is 2008. Anyone had an aged bottle of this? Reviews online seem decent anyway. I'm not even sure if I like Weizenbock so would probably be up for a swap if someone wanted them.

Stored at what temp
Cellar temp is normally a steady 8c all year round. The Westy 12s stored in there have aged perfectly anyway.
Theres a beer for a bjcp judge in training
That is aventinus eisbock and it's about 12% abv. Aventinus is about 8% abv and comes in a 500ml bottle (eisbock is 330ml)
I'd take the eisbock off your hands ;)
They had old out of date bottles of Aventinus, not the eisbock, in the Abbot Alehouse in Cork a while back. They were good but they didn't have the high carbonation or the hint of sourness you get with fresh Aventinus.
It's definitely 500ml bottles so maybe I put the wrong photo up. Will double check this weekend.
The eisbock I've had fresh and it's a superb winter sipping beer. Would imagine if it's that it would age well.
If it's tap 6 then it's double wheat bock which suppose to age well.
Interested in one of those :)
