Title: A national homebrew session day
Post by: DEMPSEY on September 15, 2016, 11:18:29 PM
The Liffey brewers had a great session on fine homebrew at DEMPSEY'S DEN 8) last Saturday and so the thought has occurred to me  (again) that a homebrew session in which maybe the finest winning beers could be consumed. A location and a date in say the summer would be nice🤔

Actually they do that in the UK on a racecourse I think or some kind of communal grounds and a load go camping and mix it up with talks bbq and all that, they don't have brewcon so no need for that sort of stuff.
AHA club night looks amazing as well, one of these years....
Beoirheads camp as well.
Sounds like a bit of fun. Must be a beer festival or brewery tour somewhere we could mix it up with? Loads come to mind and I know of one in the SE I'm sure would love to see us ;)
You could have each club bring a corny and have a "corny off"
Where were you thinking? I still have my mattress from Mr Murphys :)

I guess main questions are where and time of the year, try a poll?

YES! A rally  ;D
It would also give everyone a chance to load up the boot with all that surplus shiny gear to sell or swap for other surplus shiny gear

I have one of the party games sorted out.
May need a rinse after a load of beer.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Maybe bit late for this year, but something to plan for next year?

The owners of Wicklow Brewery have a campsite which is very close to the brewery and bar. They're also having a mini festival soon. Could be a place worth contacting.

Jason Head brewer down there has done a great job vs where they were and yep weekend of 7th they have a festival but tbh I can think of better green field sites as you'd be a big isolated down there just ask the Beoir folks who went down there before Jason took over, south county Wicklow is a beer desert :(

True enough. Bit weird TBH Bray and Wicklow town are great for beer.

Agree the brewery has been doing better lately.

The school of food in Thomastown might be interested in hosting an event like this,  they have catering,  bbq trailer and pizza oven,  a big school yard and the town is well served by bus and a train station
