Title: Vac pac bags
Post by: marceldesailly on December 13, 2012, 10:19:14 AM
Quick question for the vac packers out there. What sort of bags are being used for the hop group buy? And where can they be bought?

Rubbish, in what sense?
There should be little lines all the way along the bag in order to evac air. There is also a lot in the technique of sealing, I know that sounds like bs but I found out the hard way
You will find them on Amazon, they are also heavy gauge.
Unfortunately with these you get what you pay for :(

ah they were too small and not heavy enough. so nothing more local than amazon? I was hoping someone had found a decent supplier more local.

post a pic of your vacuumer,
I found some tricks on youtube, alright for sealing one or 2 to save a few quid, not for sealing 250 with hops!

Remember O2 permeation reduced with lower gauge bags unless you use multilayer like mylar
