Title: Co2 canister in Derry
Post by: Gallagherdee on September 23, 2016, 03:36:31 AM
Hi. I have just started all grain brewing six months ago and have made about six batches now. Up until this I have been bottling my beers but would now like to start kegging. I have been able to find loads of keg and equipment suppliers online but I am having trouble sourcing a co2 canister in Derry or Inishowen. Would anyone know a reliable supplier before I invest in any equipment.

Try fire extinguisher suppliers I think there is two in Derry; Gurney & Gladeon that would be able to assist

We can supply 2kg canisters we buy from Brouwland and I know most fire extinguisher suppliers will refill these, they do ask to keep the tank for 24 hours after its filled so safety regs

If you get a fire extinguisher, remember that the dip tube must be removed before use.
Otherwise when the valve is open it'll be pushing liquid co2 up instead of taking the gas off the top.
The local guy here in Cork does this modification free of charge. maybe your local guys will too :)

If you are just really stuck turn the FeX upside down!
