Title: Adding other flavours to cider?
Post by: Pheeel on October 21, 2016, 02:22:31 PM
I bought a batch of the CH group buy cider last year and used  8L of it to make a ginger and chilli cider. I added ginger and chilli tea to the keg. This looks like the wrong move as the sulphur smell I got off it never went away, I guess I didn't give it a chance to offgas. I'm going to try the same this year but add the tea to the cider at the beginning

What over additions have folks added to their cider that they'd recommend?

I do a raspberry 5L every year. Can bring this year's to the meet on Tuesday if you want to try.

Last year's was better. Left it too long on the fruit and got a bit too much fruit acids. Still nice though but it could be better :) also tastes like it's slightly bratty, which I think would rock if done intentionally.
