Title: The worst-case outcome of homebrewing ?
Post by: bigvalen on November 05, 2016, 01:32:50 PM

I'm not sure I've seen a sadder case of homebrewing gone wrong.

http://www.independent.ie/world-news/war-on-terror/irish-jihadist-has-died-in-a-suicide-bomb-attack-while-fighting-in-mosul-isis-claims-35190395.html

"Terence Edward Kelly (49) converted to Islam after he was jailed for making bootleg alcohol in Saudi Arabia in 2000"

"Kelly, aged in his 40s, allegedly used the VBIED to attack Iraqi state forces as they moved through the ISIS-held desert territory in the Niniveh Governorate."

Sorry no sympathy for individuals like that, what he was doing in Saudi was sticking his 2 fingers up to the authorities making big money by selling and brewing illegally. He was lucky he only got the sentence he did.

I hope he is judged when he meets his maker, irrespective of his nationality by becoming a suicide bomber he was still a murdering bastard and there is nothing in the Quran that legitimises what ISIS are doing.

So you can see I'm really sitting on the fence on this one.

Thankfully, he didn't manage to kill anyone either. IS - an impressive, if short history of getting dumb, failed criminals to do stupid stuff in the name of death.

He broke the law in an intolerant country. If he was female and driving a car he might have been stoned to death.
Thankfully he survived this and he got an opportunity to showcase their insanity on Irish Television.
At least now he's in a million pieces and cannot inflict any more harm.

The Brooklyn Brewery was founded by journalists who took up homebrewing while posted in KSA.

I reckon this is the worst case:

Hush infidels! He died for his beliefs.
Many 'heroes' did similar in our own relatively recent history.

:( This post has no place in a forum for homebrew enthusiasts. Better to keep stone throwing for your own glass houses. Let's just just keep it brewing eh?
