Title: AliExpress taps
Post by: vinyljunkie on November 08, 2016, 01:47:16 PM
Wondering could anyone on the forum give me feedback on taps from AliExpress?

I seen another poster mention these?
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Forward-Seal-Tap-w-80mm-long-shank-Beer-Tap-Kegging-Equipment-Homebrew-Supply/1017341_32276452446.html

Also these have been mentioned, I'd need to buy shanks and springs seperatly.

Any help greatly appriciated.

I've got the first ones there. They are ok, do a job. If I was buying again I'd probably get flow control though.

Would also recommend the flow control much better. They have some great deals on taps on 11.11

@ QS, are they stainless steel?

Yea I was planning on leaving it till Friday to order alright.

I've one of those, it's grand - works well enough for me, but I've nothing to compare it against. It doesn't seem to leak though, which is a plus I suppose :) easy enough to break down to clean too.

I already have two of these taps but need a third
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/homebrew-kegging-beer-tap-Golden-Beer-Faucet-with-long-shank-kettle-beer-keg-copper-chrome-beer/32602335353.html?spm=2114.13010308.0.0.W5ryr7 (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/homebrew-kegging-beer-tap-Golden-Beer-Faucet-with-long-shank-kettle-beer-keg-copper-chrome-beer/32602335353.html?spm=2114.13010308.0.0.W5ryr7)

Might go for the silver version on 11.11 instead seeing as its 20 quid cheaper and seems to also be stainless steel
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Stainless-Steel-Adjustable-4-Inch-Draft-Beer-Faucet-G5-8-Shank-With-Chrome-Plating-For-Kegerator/32704003807.html?spm=2114.13010308.0.0.W5ryr7 (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Stainless-Steel-Adjustable-4-Inch-Draft-Beer-Faucet-G5-8-Shank-With-Chrome-Plating-For-Kegerator/32704003807.html?spm=2114.13010308.0.0.W5ryr7)

Though the fact I'll have one different tap may bother me so much that I'll just shell out the extra 20 quid to keep them all the same...

Haven't used anything other than flow control but I imagine you'll only end up upgrading to them in the future so you might as well buy them now.

Not a suggestion for quality tap group buy... just looking at Aliexpress, given the 11.11 sale - saw this, though the "useless beer outlet" may prevent me from actually filling any bottles :P

CH did you receive your taps yet? I'm still waiting, no sign and the tracking hasn't budged since the 20th of October, it's just saying 'Shipped by air'  :(
Title: Re: AliExpress taps
Post by: Ed on November 17, 2016, 01:23:04 PM
I ordered a thermowell from SHFC Precision Machinery Co back at the start of october, it was "shipped by air" for over a month (it took two weeks to get to that stage) so claimed a refund before the buyer protection expired. I don't know of any aircraft that take a month to fly from China... Even an auld crop duster would have made it here by now!

Exact same here. Ordered new shanks, a thermowell and some other bits and pieces from different sellers on Ali and I'm waiting on all of them the past month. These taps arrived to me in 17 days from shipping date when I ordered in September.
Title: Re: AliExpress taps
Post by: molc on November 17, 2016, 03:09:53 PM
Needed short shanks, flow control and a stout creamer plate, so took a punt on one of these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/High-quality-Stainless-Steel-INTERTAP-FC-TAP-ONLY-FLOW-CONTROL-Black-long-tap-handle-as-gift/1000001060668.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.dVY5Jd

If it works out well, will probably replace my other taps just to have a single matching set across the board (I'm fickle I know!). Watch out For Sale section ;)

I just bought one, not sure I need a growler filler as you could just ram a tube into spout
Title: Re: AliExpress taps
Post by: molc on January 08, 2017, 12:55:19 PM
Yeah it was more that I was ordering anyway and the filler costs feck all to get as well, so why not.

There's a keg post attachment as well that looks handy for cleaning...

I love the short shanks. Perfect for the thin wall on my kegerator setup. The celli etc taps all use part of the shank for flow control, so you have to keep a longer shank.

Damn boys and their toys!

Not sure if you've heard of http://www.lindr.cz/ (http://www.lindr.cz/)?

There are no price on the site but I know a guy that gets taps from them wholesale for about €30.

It might be worth your while pinging them a mail (coming from EU you won't get stung for customs)

Since this thread is about Aliexpress taps but also had some Intertap discussion this looks like the best place to ask.

I have 3 chinese perlick style flow control taps on my Kegerator - long shanks through the fridge door.  One of them gives me a bit of jip pour wise no matter the length of line.  Does anyone know if the shanks on these things would be compatible with Intertap taps? Also, any idea of the nut size on the back of the shank as I'd like to replace the barbs with John Guest fittings?

This is a good question. I was just assuming that would work as I plan on replacing 2 of those Chinese perlick knock offs with intertap too.

Can you measure the thread accurately with a vernier?

Wouldn't even know what a Vernier was. Doubt I have one.

These are the taps in question. I suppose the flow control ones would be a more accurate description:

If the shank has flow control integrated it won't be compatible. The flow control system is integrated into the Intertaps.

Wondering could anyone on the forum give me feedback on taps from AliExpress?

I seen another poster mention these?

Also these have been mentioned, I'd need to buy shanks and springs seperatly.

Any help greatly appriciated.

Looks like these taps are now all gone which is a pity as the 3 I bought are great and I would recommend if they come up again, thanks again Vinyl for the initial post.

Could it have something to do with the Chinese new year as well, a lot of add on eBay are saying they're away for the next week. Or that they're only distributing them to the likes of morebeer, kegkingdom etc...

My order from Christmas just arrived with no duty as well. Looks like I was lucky with timing. Thanks op for putting these up!

I'm looking to get some taps for a keezer build. Did everyone here buy the Intertap flow controls? Are they worth getting over the cheeper flow control?

I was also looking at these as they would go with the Celli tap i already have. Anyone bought them? the feedback on them is positive except for the delivery

With those ones you really need the specific shank for them, I have one and I barely use it. The intertap faucets should be back soon, they were upgrading them so there's a version 2 available now. https://youtu.be/_9sGl8o4n_4

How are these taps working out for those who bought?

Am slowly putting together bits and pieces for kegging,  so looking at maybe picking up a pair of these intertsp flow control ones.  Just wondering how the taps from the Ali vendor in the op worked out in use?

Never owned any other type of taps but I can't fault these at all. Flow control is the mutts nuts, I couldn't imagine owning taps without it now. Being able to twist off the nozzle and fit on my growler filler nozzle is great and for a nitro setup, doing the same with the stout nozzle is great option. Only tiny gripe I have is that on one of my taps, the flow control lever sits a bit off compared to the other one. Just mean that when full closed, it looks like it's pushed forward a small bit. I took the entire tap apart to inspect and it looks like it's a small inaccuracy in the machining of the flow control barrel. Doesn't affect operation at all, but just a small inconsistency between the two.

TL;DR: Would recommend A+

I got my shanks from the same seller. Ordered the wrong type from a different seller first by accident. Torturous month waiting on the right ones then  :(
