Title: Brett Wine Kit Hack
Post by: garciaBernal on November 09, 2016, 08:32:19 PM
I like wines. But my problem is the wines I like are the wines that are considered to have off flavours caused by brettanomyces. Now I've never made one of the wine kits but can I take my own brett and hit a wine kit with it? Is there any reason I shouldn't or can't do this? Any kit recommendations for this purpose?
Cheers.

Don't see why not.

What's an example of a commercial wine that has brett flavour that's available in this country? Had been curious to try one.

Chateau Musar 2004, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon, or a Chateau de Beaucastel. Pricey but any good wine store should have them in Dublin.

Very informative FB group for information about alternative microbes. Mostly about beer but there are plenty of discussions about Brett and wine if you use the search feature
