shame but 10K for something that the rest of us build for up to a grand was always going to be a big ask :(

Exactly, they got a few corporate orders but that was never going to be a big market. Plus, they didn't even have an Android app.
The bar is fantastic though, hopefully they can keep that on.
It would of never of made it, too much money spent. Probably a lot of consultants made
a killing, and now its getting torched.

Setting aside the fact the bar is within staggering distance of my house, they've been very accommodating to the Belfast Club meetings and competitions. Would be a real shame if it was affected by the rest of the business.
The bar were tweeting only yesterday looking for more bar staff.

The hefty price tag and the snazzy aesthetics of the unit makes me think that these guys weren't targeting the home brewer market..
Though that makes me wonder exactly who they
were targeting.. ???
Nevertheless, sad to see any business fail.

In their own words they were targeting the 'Google' type companies that provide fridges of beer for their battery hens. I guess the idea was that employees could brew their own beer on a Friday evening, or for company competitions as part of team-building or somesuch shit:
'There; I've just brewed my beer, where do I hold my glass'?
' What do you mean I have to let it ferment and condition for at least 4 weeks?'
'So who puts it into this 'fermenter''?
'What???'
'And I have to clean the fecker too??'
'Is the fussball table still downstairs in storage?'

Also a thing to remember was that you still needed a fermenter. So after spending all that dough you would need to shell out for a matching stainless fermenter, because let's face it, you're hardly going to throw your wort into a €15 Coopers bucket.
I also suspect a slow news day for the Irish News:

The comments here date back over 2 months.

Nothing wrong with those Coopers' fermenters. Their krausen collar and tap design are pretty damn good ;)
