Title: Help needed: converting from Yabb to phpBB or vBulletin
Post by: admin on November 27, 2012, 03:35:47 PM
We need to change from Yabb 2.5AE to phpBB or failing that vBulletin so that we can use stuff like Tapatalk and get better integration with the website.

For this we need a converter, but I can't really find one.

If we can't find a converter we need to write one.

This is where I need your help!

Does anyone have the required expertise to help out?

Yabb is written in perl and stores stuff in flat files. You don't really need to know perl tho. The others are written in php and run on a SQL database, so it's probably necessary to know both of those.

See if that helps.

I could take a look at this. I don't see any tools to make it easy but I could at least scope it out to see what's involved.

Go for it. I'll take a look at it over the weekend.

Arse, no I didn't, sorry about that, thing is though, it does appear that there is a script out there.

Maybe try here:

That's only for converting to Yabb.

OK I give up, googling while sitting at work is not helpful ;)
