A guy on fb said he got this for £280 delivered. The build quality looks great
The Grainfather users fb group didn't appreciate his post and it got deleted :)
Mine is in transit right now, due tomorrow or Friday depending on An Post. Got it for £299. Will try document a brew day when it lands.
Looks very similar to one on the market here already? BrewDorg do you have a link for the one you bought?
I do indeed. I ordered almost a month ago now when he had a special pre-order price of £299. Got an email on the 12th that they had arrived in the UK and was shipped that day via eBay GSP. The Jim's Beer Kit FB page has some buyers posting pics. Looks a solid bit of kit for the price.
Which one do you think it looks similar to? I saw alibaba sellers giving branding options so I assume all these similar units are the same, just some without branding.

That's the one keg Kingdom have branded the brew butler and are going to sell for around £400. I'm thinking I might grab one on ebay!
The Brew Butler is absolutely identical yeah. Happy to be a guinea pig / show in person before anyone commits though
One of our guys in GCB has one and has done a few brews with it
What does he make of it so far in terms of quality? Has he had it long? Bought straight from China?
The re-circulation pipe looks to be the big improvement on these over the ones being sold in Ireland already. It looks really sturdy.

Totally agree! I think it would still put a bit of silicone tubing on it though so the wort isnt hitting that one spot continuously.

don't know to be honest he got a faulty one to start and they just sent him out a new base.
this one looks like they are on Version V 4.0 though yeah?
Is there a better Ali maker does anyone know? Or are they all the same?
You buying?
To me there are only 3 single vessel players in the Market
Braumeister
Grainfather
Everything else, there are at least 3 iterations of these in the market that I have seen, I suppose if you buy from an EU Vendor they have to stand over it unless its been bought from the UK in 6 months time :o.
Not sure what version these are on. I've never seen any vessel like these from Ali or otherwise
You aren't talking about the regular ACE boilers are you CH? Does the GCB lads vessel have the bottom drain, magnetic pump, grain basket etc? Or is it just like the one here -> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ACE-BEER-MASH-TUN-30ltr-DIGITAL-Boiler-S-S-1-2-bsp-VALVE-STRAINER-INSIDE-/221617833736
The ACE eBay store gives you a 1 year warranty which is better than ordering direct from Ali in my eyes. Also mentioned in another thread, whenever I have questions or issues with my old vessel, they were very helpful.

assuming CH is talking about me - yeah I just have the Ace Boiler/Mashtun, not the new all in one system. Only done the one brew so far - as mentioned the first one they sent me had a faulty stat so they sent me a replacement (minus the lid, false bottom etc) and let me keep the faulty one which is decent customer service IMO. Faulty one can probably be repurposed as a HLT (not by me though, my electrical skills are weak... :) )
I'd say he meant 2, he can't count without his iCalculator
I've messaged the alibaba seller to see how much it would cost shipped to Ireland. Might be better off just buying it from Ace though for peace of mind....or I might just bail altogether and get a Gf 😂
What are the controllers on these? Do they do have features like an alphaomega stc1000 or the gf controller or are they modable
I think you can program step mashes into them. I can't remember offhand how many steps. You can control the strength of the element as well.
Here's the only video I found of it. Apparently timed step mashes are possible too. Mine is out for delivery tomorrow so hopefully won't be long before I can answer more questions :)

It looks like a very nice system, the mash plate looks very good, you can choose any wattage setting between 1000W and 2500W and the 40 litre capacity is a bonus too. Will be interested to hear how you like it.
Oh that's very sexy
Get yourself a small bit of silicon tubing so the return rests on the top and isnt Sloshing around
Pity no remote module as I can see those buttons wearing through on that control panel
Post a review of a brewday if you get a chance
OK got a reply back from the company. It actually works out slighter cheap to buy from Ace and there's the piece of mind that ace will look after you if something goes wrong.
Brewdorg got his today hopefully he will throw up a few pics and do a review as well
Here's a pic of the pump supplied with the ACE brewer. Looks pretty decent for the price paid.

11/12 is what I throttle my chugger back to for 50l and is more than enough
Good stuff. First brew happening tomorrow. I'm hoping to get a video together.
Just did some digging on other forums. Looks like the grainfather is supplied with the same model of pump MP-10RN.

Looking forward to hearing about your brew day BrewDorg. Trying to decide on a new system! Have up any experience with a grainfather?
A friend of mine is looking to get a all in one brewing system. Did anybody brewed with this after? Any feedback would be great.
Thanks
I have a 30l ace microbrewery. The construction is solid it functions very well.
I see it as a good middle ground between the old Grainfather with manual control and the Grainfather Connect.
The controller is well laid out and simple to program up-to 6 steps, with the lowest temp fixed at 50C. However you can strike in to hit a lower first step.
The only downside I see so far is that the controller will only kick on the element at 2 degree intervals. I have mitigated this buy insulating the outside.
I have opened the iner-working and found that the elements are switched with mechanical relays which I guess is the reason they set-up the delay.
All in it's very good value for money and I'm happy with the purchase.
Pretty much my thoughts too FS. I bought an Ardbir from auralabuse not so long ago, so will be installing that to replace the mechanical relays. To be honest it's not that big an issue as I find the temp at the centre of the grain remains on target even when the probe is showing 1-2º high.
My only other wishes for the Ace would be an adjustable overflow pipe like the GF has and a longer grain basket to maximise the amount of grain you can mash.
torn between this the the bulldog brewer, finger is getting trigger happy not sure which way to go ?? advice?

I can't talk about the Ace but I have the V1 Bulldog Brewer and I'm delighted with it, obviously the v2 or v3 are an improvement on that but it's mostly superficial things as far as I'm concerned.
I got it for cheaper as I bought it on the demo day so not sure what the current price is, but I would recommend it anyway if it's in your price range.

Can also recommend the ACE. Either will do the job great for you, just down to what your own needs are.
Been thinking about getting one of these or the bulldog, just checked Ebay and the ACE is £1,353.30 ???

It's out of stock, sellers do this so they don't have to list the item again, when it's back in it will be down to the normal price
Sent ACE email back in stock 3-4 weeks, still undecided on ACE or Bulldog
I was faced with the same decision. Went for the bulldog. You get local support on it, if something goes wrong you will get resolution much quicker in all likelihood

Back in stock now. I'm getting an itchy trigger finger but still not sure about this over the bulldog
Lad with a user name of Magical Pancakes on YouTube has few vids with ace microbrewery. That might help in decision making :)
I think thats Brewdorg from here
Magical pancake is a different guy. He has some videos up with modifications he's made. I made a thread in the all grain brewing section here with some early thoughts. Worth a read I think.
See the 50l versions of the ace micro brewery are starting to go on sale
https://www.ebay.ie/itm/322521737468
I would say ace will have them shortly and at a better price
30 litre version with chiller for 329
