Title: Hello
Post by: Níall on December 19, 2016, 04:31:34 PM
Hi all,

I thought it was time I introduced myself as I signed up 4 years ago  ;)

I've been brewing for about 10 years and followed a pretty typical path of progression from kits and extract to all grain, amassing bigger and shinier toys as I went along. Over the last 5 years or so real life and family commitments have meant that I have found it more difficult to make time for 8 hour brewdays and as a result they have been restricted to a few times a year. I've recently bought a Grainfather as I'm looking for a simpler, more hands off brewday and I'm hoping this will get me back to brewing more regularly.

Your welcome. 4 years ago wow, :). The grainfather is a great piece of kit and makes for a quicker brew day. Do you have a second source for boiling up sparge water.

Thanks for the Welcome - it was a quiet 4 years but now that I've started... ;)

Did my first brew on it yesterday and I'm very optimistic despite running into a significant problem which I've posted on the Grainfather thread rather than include it in the Intro posts!

I have an old Burco boiler that I rigged up with a ball valve and silicon hose so was able to regulate the flow for the sparge.
