Title: Pilsner Urquell on draught
Post by: admin on December 16, 2012, 08:08:48 PM
Had a pint of this the other night at the Liffey Brewers HQ (i.e. The Lucan County) and whoa, what a beer. Waaayyy better than bottle. I never got the lemony, citrussy flavour off it before, and it tasted so fresh I couldn't believe it.

This could displace Hooker as my favourite beer  :o

It is a very good beer. Just shows what you can do if you are trying to make a great pilsner.

They do it in the exchequer too but you need a nice run on it.  Fantastic beer - one of the reasons I love Prague.

If you are ever lucky enough to go Prague, stop into //www.klasterni-pivovar.cz its a brewery in one of the oldest monestarys in Prague.  They have a pub / restaurant there and they have the fermenters exposed.  At one point I saw a guy adding hops and stirring the beer.  You can see the fermenters in the picture on the site.  If you can, get the new IPA they have there - its the nicest beer I have ever had.

That being said, it was all amazing.  Here is a photo of the menu.
