Title: Grainfather piece??
Post by: Gugs44 on April 18, 2017, 11:20:51 AM
Howdy lads,

I unfortunatley misplaced my top overflow pipe from my grainfather last brew and cant get one until late next week due to none in stock at both GB and HBC, would anyone have a spare they are willing to sell or even let me borrow as have 2 brews palnned for late this week on my limited days off work?

Will pay for the postage if I could get the lend of it, the piece I am on about is linked http://www.geterbrewed.ie/top-overflow-pipe-for-the-grainfather/

TIA

Denis

Hey Denis,

Someone on this forum made a makeshift pipe from copper when they misplaced their overflow pipe. I think you might find info in the Grainfather thread. I'll take a look and see if I can find the post. It might be something that you can do to tide you over until you order a replacement.

Mick

How big is your brew. I bought the microfine so I can do small batches or smaller grain bills from THBC. http://www.thehomebrewcompany.ie/grainfather-micro-pipework-10-litre-p-4262.html

Cheers lads,

That copper trick may just get me over the line, thank you for that

@ DEMPSEY, Both brews are well over the 6kg mark so the micro pipe work is a bit too small, handy piece though for smaller/pilot recipes

I am planning a big RIS and so will be doing a double batch using it.
