I used brewpi before but this is a better option imo. Check out the link. Parts list is on it.

Is that BrewPi with an arduino?
It uses a single cheap board to replace the arduino/RPi combination.
This is the one I got https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Smart-Electronics-ESP-12E-WeMos-D1-WiFi-uno-based-ESP8266-shield-for-arduino-Compatible-IDE/32666731337.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.1QDUs0 (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Smart-Electronics-ESP-12E-WeMos-D1-WiFi-uno-based-ESP8266-shield-for-arduino-Compatible-IDE/32666731337.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.1QDUs0)
It's been controlling a fermentation for me for past couple of weeks without issue. 8)
What's the benefit of using this setup over the raspberry pi ?

- Price - multiple times cheaper
- Reliability - had several bad experiences with brewpi
- Potential to integrate with the SG Sensor - not something I've played with yet
To clarify, I was using the brewpi legacy project that isn't being developed any further. No experience with the spark kit. At the end of the day it's down to your budget and personal preference though. Hope this helps.
Thanks mate, well I have had not experience of either so any background info is much welcomed! Will have a read and see how I get on, thanks
