Use a syringe to fill your bubbler it stops water going everywhere.
A dissolved campden tablet in syringe before you fill bubbler sterilises water.

Drink some home brews while you brew. Reminds you why you're brewing  and makes the occasional screw up less stressful. :)

For kits, have a 5 liter bottle of water in the fridge in case you end up too warm to pitch.
Stop at 20 Liters, check temp and see if you need cold, room temp or boiling water to hit the desired pitching temp.

These are purely optional but very handy:

- I try to prepare grains, hops and mineral salt additions the day before a brew to shorten the day.
- when recirculating the mash liquor, lay a piece of pierced tin foil on top of your grain to avoid disturbing the grain bed.
- have a spray can of starsan at the ready for sanitising equipment as you go.
- use a jewellers weighing scale to measure out mineral salt additions.
- have an auto-siphon at the ready in case there are any hop blockages when draining the boiler.
- save any left over starsan for your next brew
