Title: Microbreweries Milwaukee and Chicago
Post by: Parabellum on August 10, 2017, 11:12:20 AM
Hi Guys,

Heading to Milwaukee and Chicago next week, just wondering if anyone could recommend a microbrewery/ies to visit in these cities?
Also while I have your attention are there any beers that I should try?
Not overly familiar with American microbrews having only tried Great Divides Dark Yeti and Uinta Brewing Birthday Suit.
Thanks

Milwaukee is a city that prides itself on its brewing, bootlegging and drinking history ;D. I drank mixed 6 packs of Lakefront Brewery beers that were good. New Glarus Brewery are about an hour and a half away, west of Milwaukee. You'll find their beers in Milwaukee bars though.

Thanks very much for the recommendations guys!
Got to 4 breweries while I was out there (Lakefront, Goose Island, Miller  :-[ and Laqunitas) and tried a few of the local microbrews. To name a few: Pipeworks - Lizard King, Toppling Goliath - Pseudo-Sue, Three Floyds - Gumballhead & Zombie Dust and Great Lakes Brewing - Edmund FitzGerald.

The scale of the breweries was very impressive and the taprooms were a very nice touch!
The artwork on the cans/bottles over there is very impressive!
