Title: Hello world!
Post by: bighoppapump on September 23, 2017, 12:40:50 PM
Hey guys, I've one kit bottled and drank and have 2 more ready for bottling today. Have read the first half of Palmer's book multiple times and am learning a lot. Looking forward to meeting and learning from you guys. Planning on trying to do a milk stout from a coopers stout kit next, would appreciate if anyone has any recommendations!

Hi and welcome to the club, haven't done that kit but I am sure someone will help out .

If you do a search there is a number of posts on here that may be of interest to.
LordEoin is the kit guru, he might offer some help

Best of luck with the brew

Yo pump!
check out the coopers page for recipe ideas on that milk stout
http://store.coopers.com.au/recipes/index/list
They don't have a recipe for one, but you can easily mangle one like the 'macho macchiato' to your purposes

Thanks for the advice lads. That macho macchiato looks close to what I'm after and not too difficult either. I've yet to do anything other thank kits so I haven't done specialtity malt steeping yet but this looks like it may be the one. Plus the gf loves coffee flavoured beer so it likes like it could be a runner!

You're welcome.
Check out this guide (http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.ie/forum/kit-brewing/how-to-kit-hack-(an-intermediate-guide)/) too. It might have a few extra pointers
