Title: Auto - Syphon Recommendation for Newbie.
Post by: bighoppapump on October 27, 2017, 11:23:40 AM
Hi,

I'm looking at investing in an auto-syphon as I am increasing my production line! Up until now I had been doing beer kits in a primary fermenter with a tap so I was bottling directly from it.

I want to start messing with ciders and wines and will need to do some secondary to facilitate this. I'm pretty clueless about the differences between the sizes and brands of autosyphons but I would mainly use it to move liquid between 2 demijohns, between 2 30L fermentering buckets, and between a 30L fermenting bucket and a demijohn.

Is there one size that can accomplish all of these tasks? any particular brand you would recommend? I'm looking at putting an order in from homebrewwest soon so ideally it is one they sell but I don't mind looking elsewhere.

Cheers,
Phil

Thanks for the recommendation! I ended up doing a bit more research and found that I can use the taps on my 2 30L fermenters with sypthon tubing to transfer from them to other vessels. So I opted for the smaller autosiphon to transfer between demijohns in the end
