Just read over on JBK that he passed away in November. I always found his responses to brewing questions to be often frank and robust which I enjoyed reading.
Really sorry to hear this. I've his Classic European Beer book (and the real ale book) and it's a great resources.
Ah, that is sad. I've learnt a lot from him over the years, from his many books, and his responses on the JBK forum. Reading his BYORAAH book has really helped me develop my scirrossis love of bitters and my ability to brew them. Sometimes I just flick through reading recipes!
May he rest in peace, in the great pub in the sky.
