Title: Kegerator Build question/problem
Post by: Inky on February 19, 2018, 11:24:01 PM
Hey Everyone,
Have tried to post this already and it failed so apologies if it comes up twice. Am finally starting to build my kegerator and have my collar built. I've just realised my belling chest freezer seems to have a light in the lid and a cable coming out of the lid into the body so I'm just wondering can I just cut the wire or would that damage the chest freezer? I'll try post up a pic.
Cheers,
Andy

There's probably a switch somewhere on the lid/top of the freezer that activates the light when opened. Make it stick in the off position, and then just terminate the wires separately using electrical tape and you'll be fine.

I was looking at the freezer and decided against it specifically for that. It might be a magnet from the lid that turns it off?!?

Get a piece of mild steel to check.
