Title: Looking for ph7 buffer solution
Post by: admin on February 01, 2013, 09:56:19 AM
I just had a call from someone looking for this.

Would anyone have any, or know where a relatively small amount could be had?

one of the DC brewing lads might have some. They use it to calibrate ph meters.

Asked one of the lads and they can get it but not until next week, is that too late?

If you just want a pH 7 reference solution then just used distilled or de-ionised water ( from Halfords )

Pure water is defined as pH 7.00

You should have a source of it any way to wash off your pH meters electrode between/after use.

pH meters are usually calibrated at about pH 4 and also at pH 10. At least mine is!!

You can get the calibration solutions fairly cheaply on the 'bay

No, that should do, thanks! How would one go about collecting it?

I will pick it up off the lads and if you aren't in town I can post it out to you. It will be a small package I imagine.
They might be giving me some other PH buffers too, so I can send them onto you as well as I had been meaning to get the 4 and 10 (as Will has mentioned) for calibrating my PH meter. Up until now I have been lazy and just calibrated to that PH 5.2 buffer solution.
