Title: Corking wine for the first time
Post by: Padraich on March 15, 2018, 10:08:02 AM
Hey all,

I've a beginner (stupid) question.

I'm going to bottle my first ever batch of wine later, using corks. Do the corks go in dry, do they need to be sanitised, or do they need to be saturated in water or sanitiser?

Thanks all!

Best to soak them in hot/boiling water (with a couple of campden tablets if you have them) for a while.

This will sanitise them and also softens them up and makes them easier to use.
