My keg fridge has started tripping the sockets when it cools down to temp.
I'm using an inkbird for temp control and like I said when the temp his it's target of 6.5 degrees the compressor stops and it trips the sockets. Does anyone know if it a simple fix or do I need to source a new fridge?

Did you try the fridge without the inkbird? It sounds like the inkbird is the cause to me.

The problem is I removed the old thermostat. I've a second inkbird I can try.

I think you should try the other inkird so. First thing i thought was dodgy relay when i read this. If same thing happens on the other inkbird you'll be fairly sure problem is fridge. If not its the inkbird.

I tried the other inkbird and no joy. It must be the fridge Feck!

That's a pity. Swapping out inkbird would be a simple fix. Maybe somebody more qualified can offer advice on next steps with it.

Hard to believe that when a controller switches off a fridge something trips!
What is tripping? Fuse/breaker or the ELCB/RCD? (The first are to do with overcurrent- short circuit protection, the other two are to do with earth faults or imbalance in the live and neutral circuits)

To others reading this don't bother removing the inbuilt thermostat just set to max and use your inkbird, stc, MyBrewbot, brewpi directly controlling the power to the plug.

Will, It's an RCD that's tripping, the one responsible for all the sockets. I thought that the compressor was over heating because if I leave it off for a while and plug it back in the fridge will start up again and begin cooling until it hits the target temp. But after it trips I have to unplug the fridge to reset the rcd.
@CH I've had the fridge a while and I remember when setting it up following kegerator instructions online somewhere saying remove the thermostat. But your right, there was no point.

If it works until the target temp, then it sounds like the inkwell is tripping the circuit. A way to test would be to get the probe warm after it's tripped then reset and see it only trips again when you reach target temp.

Suggest you plug a table lamp in (to replace the fridge) and use warm/cold water to cycle the inkbird and see what happens.
Also just plug in the fridge to a normal socket and let it cool down to a set temp then unplug it (That's effectively what the inkbird is doing)
