Just lifted this out of the Galway thread:
Here's the general concept:
12 different brewers will brew one of the 12 beers of Christmas found in Randy's Mosher's Radical Brewing.
If you don't have the book, can't borrow it, etc., I can PM the recipe to you.
Each brewer gives three 500 bottles of their beer to the 11 other brewers (33 bottles in total) and receives 3 bottles of each recipe in return. (Probably at a meetup or would posting them be handier?)
Maybe you drink one, share one, and age the third!?
Some of these are fairly big beers, and need some time and aging to be optimal, so planning and brewing early can be critical. If you're bottle conditioning, be ready to bottle in time, etc. Also, one of the beers (Juniper Rye Bock) is a lager, so a brewer with a lagering fridge will be needed for that one.
Choosing What You Want to Brew:
First come first served (with the noted restrictions below...)
Reply to this thread if you're interested and let us know which beer you want to brew.
As beers are claimed, I will update the thread with the brewer's name next to their selection.
Here is the list of Beers:
1) Caramel Quadrupel
2) Spiced Cherry Dubbel
3) Spiced Dunkel Weizenbock
4) Juniper Rye Bock
5) Fruitcake Old Ale
6) Saffron Tripel
7) Christmas Gruit ( @Auger )
8) Honey Ginger IPA
9) Crabapple Lambicky Ale
10) Gingerbread Ale
11) Spiced Bourbon Stout
12) Abbey Weizen
What thinks the collective?
I'll take to Spiced Bourbon Stout
I'll take the Juniper Rye Bock
Is this recipe the same as the book?

Edit: I've just re-read this. I thought we'd each give and receive 3 bottles, not 33 bottles.
I really like the idea of bottle swap in general but have 2 suggestions
a) I know it's Xmas themed and a bit of a laugh but most people don't like spiced beer. I reckon the standard would be alot lower than beers we normally make. I propose we share beers we are proud of.
b) We reduce the number down a bit. Could be if you put 5 beers in, you get 5 beers out. Or more. Or less.
I'm still keen to the Juniper Rye Bock.
Love the idea of a 12 beers swap. Not so much a fan of spiced beers and would be more for the "Brew a batch of your finest tried and tested beer to swap" rout. People could go all out with themed labels etc.
It's a great idea lads. I'd definitely give it a go whichever way it happens.

12 beers of Christmas - sounds like it would be perfect to put in 12 bottles of your finest and get 12 back :)
I'm sure to have something for it anyways; just need to figure out what to make!
I like the idea but I'd rather not go with spiced beers TBH! Happy to brew a strong bastard for aging though (maybe even into the nationals if good enough...
We don't have to stick to these 12.
Just do something a bit special. Doesn't even have to be a beer or cider!
I'd be up for doing a beer for this but wouldn't be a big fan of spiced beers. As said above maybe just a beer you do well, And maybe limit to 2 beers per style to ensure variety.

Okay so we're saying to produce 12 500ml bottles, share 11 out and get 11 back and we can produce something special. Sounds good to me

We might have more than 12 people wanting to get involved. I don't see a problem with that. Might not be as clean as everyone gets a bottle of everything but it'll work itself out
We can just call it a Christmas bottle swap.
