I was in Galway with the family the week before last, and got a rear window to duck in somewhere for a pint. As I did, I spotted a table with some bottles that were capped in those very particular colours we are all familiar with. It could only be a homebrewers club meeting. I introduced myself (being an envoy of the South Central Brewers club in Tipp), to who turned out to be the fine folks of the Galway Homebrewers Club . I was impressed with the quality of beers they had for sampling -a refreshing Saison, a citra pa that is going to be a cracker, a fine belgian, the "zombie" citra ipa and a dry stout . Very impressive showing.
But what I suppose tone of the things that struck me , was the friendly chat about beer, brewing, equipment and all things related. very easy and free flowing. Its another aspect to this hobby , the fact that we all do have these things in common, and I've never meet a homebrewer who isnt curious . It makes it easy to pass an evening. And thanks to the folks in Galway Brewers Club for a very enjoyable evening (and some fine beers on tap in "Oslo" helped too!) .
So a big shout out to the Galway folks - a great bunch of lads
