Title: Boiler Advice
Post by: Andy Q on December 30, 2018, 11:04:04 AM
Hi All,

Elements have gone again, so decided to replace boiler instead of Elements this time, just looking for advice. don't brew often, and as tight they come, so looking for something cheap, and low maintanence.

Torn between :-

And the cheap Peco from the homebrewcompany, anyone any input/recommendations?

Thanks,

Andy

What boiler do u currently have?

You could fit an element to your current boiler

The first option might not sustain a rolling boil, u may need to bypass the thermostat and this can be a balls

Peco boilers are ok at best. I would recommend stainless instead of plastic.

I have an old hop and grape boiler from 19 o splash, 10 gallon plastic bin with two elements, have been to Charlie Sheilds a few times since to update elements, last batch didn't have the protective cover on the pins, so probably best to get elements from a homebrew website this time, either that or a buffalo boiler from Nesbits for something shiny:-) thanks for letting me know about the Peco, Andy
