Title: Mash basket for Peco boiler
Post by: larmckenna on February 18, 2019, 05:55:16 PM
Background: I'm a standard 5 Gallon Electric all grain Homebrewer here. Don't wanna upgrade to an all in one stainless system just yet...

I really like The clawhammer supply mash basket they use with their stainless system. Has anyone done similar with a peco boiler? I'm no longer a fan of using the cooler box for mashing and effectively want a basket like this so I can use my digital temp control.

See pic attached.

I just use a a standard BIAB bag and hang it off a nail above the shed door when removing it so that it can drip into the wort. There always seems to be a second person on hand in the Clawhammer videos to put the little metal holders in place once the person on camera pulls the basket out. I saw one video where the person tried to lift out the basket and put in the holders and the same time but they couldn't so it seems it could be quite difficult.
