Title: Copper for herms coil
Post by: Mossy on August 12, 2020, 05:54:38 PM
Hi, has anyone here used copper for a herms coil? Any regrets? What's it like to clean? I have a spare immersion chiller that I'm thinking of turning into a herms coil, rather than spend €100 on a stainless steel one.

If you use a HERMS pot rather then running a coil through HLT a chiller works perfectly. A pot is more responsive then a coil in HLT

I use this one in my HERMS pot.

Have been using it for a good few years now.
