Title: Kegs needed for training!
Post by: Mike on January 13, 2013, 07:25:46 PM
My team is using empty kegs for training (we throw them up in the air) but we need two more.  Would anyone know a good place to get some free?

What sport are you?

A couple of years ago the new coach at Malahide Rugby Club asked me if I could fill a few empty kegs with water for the bigger lads to "develop upper boddy strength"

Thats when I invented "my little tool" ( as demonsrated at a Beoir meeting ) that will open a Sankey-S type keg.

So two kegs were filled with water. Total weight of a Heino keg (Oops don't mention that name) full of water is 61 Kg!

So the first night of training all was well with the coach BUT the forewards were after my blood. Things like " Were did these F***ing cask come from " and "where the F*** is Will davis"?

You get the drift.

Anyways, long story short: They couldn't be arsed to put the kegs back under lock and key and so just left them outside next to the lorry and tractor tires we also use!

Not a good idea! Some little gouriers robbed them!! Imagine their surprise when they found some mankey auld water in the kegs! I didn't bother with sanitiser!!!

PS:
Seriously tho', I still have my little tool that will remove the extractor from an S-type keg ( non-destructively )!!

Haha! Filled kegs would be too much. It's for American Football. We fire them up in the air and then sprint off before they land to simulate the actions used in scrimmage. It's great fun but leaves you knackered!
