As many of you know, local homebrew clubs across the country have increasingly been using WhatsApp as the main way to stay connected, chat about brewing, organise meetups, and share the odd bit of brewing wisdom (or mischief 🍻).
To help strengthen links between clubs and bring the whole NHC community closer together, we've now launched a National Homebrew Club WhatsApp Community.
💬 What is it?
The WhatsApp Community brings together existing local club WhatsApp groups into one central hub. It doesn't replace your group, it simply connects it under a national banner, making it easier to:
- Share events and competitions
- Discover other clubs and meetups
- Get advice from a wider circle of brewers
- Buy/sell gear
- Stay up to date with national club news

Will our group lose members or chat history?
No, everything stays intact. You're just connecting it to the wider network.
Is our group chat visible to everyone?
No, only members of your group can read the messages in that group.
Can we still run our group as normal?
Absolutely. This is just about creating a bigger, better-connected homebrew community.
Can anyone just join into our local club's Whatsapp group?
No, Local club groups remain restricted, only a local club admin can add people to the group. New members can apply to join from the community but must be approved.
📌 What About the Forum?
The forum isn't going anywhere! While WhatsApp is ideal for day-to-day conversation, the forum remains the best place for:
- Recipes
- Instructions and how-to guides
- Equipment advice
- Competition details
- Permanent reference posts
We're not replacing it. We're using both platforms together to build a more active and accessible homebrew community.
