Voluntary community groups... not sure if we qualify. Will stick on Beoir too.
It might work better for Beoir but I can't see a real difference or reason.
QuoteApplications will only be accepted from charity, not for profit organisations, sporting groups and other voluntary groups based in the Republic of Ireland.
By definition, we are a voluntary organisation. We benefit the community by holding workshops around the country and teaching skills that at the least lead to a fulfilling hobby and at best, starts the road to a new career.
Also apart from the free trip, which is cool:
QuoteApplicants agree to participate, without payment, in such publicity relating to the promotion of the Iarnród Éireann "The Journey's on us" programme 2013 as Iarnród Éireann may reasonably require.
So if we were lucky winners, they use us for publicity which in turn gets us free publicity ;)
Anyway it's a very short form and the worst that happens is we don't win. No harm done.
Free Train Journey sounds good - We could do Cork as well - The North might introduce complications .. but no harm in trying !
Cork is always good or Galway.
Since it's free, Cork is good because it normally costs a lot to get to on the train. Galway is a little cheaper.
I have to say - I do love the Fran Well in Cork and that Beirhouse place - I was gutted I missed the festival down there this year.

Going somewhere just to go on the beer... lads seriously! No will be the answer.
Team building exercise with a view to connect with our furthest members and boost morale ;)

Fact finding mission. ;)
I think that if we could arrange some sort of class/workshop at the end of the journey that we might just have a chance!
Indeed, perhaps at one of the well based hombrew expos.
They were pluging this on RTE R1 (Mooney/Joe Duffy?) yesterday or day before; basically its a free trip on the rails from anywhere to anywhere and up to (IIRC 50) or so people!
Would they mind if we brought our own HB??? ;) ;) ;)
We should stress our "Organic/Grass roots/Community based/PC/"Gays-Lesbos-DeafDump&Blind Kids welcome approach"/Educational/What else?? Oh and one more - [this is the new killer]: Low Carbon Footprint - my beer moves all of 10 feet from brewery to Throat!!
Cork for me too!
