Title: Converting DME to grain
Post by: delzep on April 19, 2013, 01:07:00 PM
If I used 3kg of DME in a recipe and I wanted to convert it to all grain, approximately how much base malt would be needed to make up the difference if I removed all the DME?

This seems to be a useful chart.

Assuming that your brewhouse efficiency is 65%, 3kg of DME ~= 5.5kg of pale malt.

I presume you then just mix the same speciality grains,  you would previously have seeped in the extract receipe version, with the  base malt before the mash?
