hi there folks
am in the middle of some tiny upgrades to my 'brewery'
bought 5m from vossy of the hose. going to use some to hose from MT to boiler. also going to use some of that to hose from my hlt to top of mt to sparge. atm thinking of hosing onto top of tin foil on top of grains. this would be simple but would save me from having to manually pour litre per litre on top of the foil. the problem I have atm is the tap on my hlt. i'll post pics below. but basically, its a little to big for the hose but also I have no control of the flow from the hlt. so I suppose I'm wondering if/how I should buy a new tap for my hlt thatll fit the hose and also allow me to control the flow.

this is the boiler

tap with top on. (the top can come off the tap. see below)

so I could, in theory just find a replacement top that'll let me control the flow of the tap. but not sure I can get my 17/18mm tap into the hose i bought

so I could just get a new tap completely
thoughts?
Take it to your local plumbing supply and see have they got something to for it.
a simple lever tap will sort that for you and a tap on the end akin to

thats the one on my boiler or 1/4 inch would give you enough flow if you wanted to fly sparge
I'm overcomplicating again, consider pulling or stretching some silicon wide diameter tubing over it and holding with a jubilee clip
thanks cider
thats the kinda tap im looking for. where'd you get yours? got the silicone ready n waiting!
B&Q, Sprucefield!
take it down to your local plumbers merchants, tell him what you are doing, it will be a few quid extra but save you time and hassle.
post pictures when you get it sorted!
Correction that 1/2" came from my local plumbing merchants, I do have a tap on my HLT which was from Lisburn!
Just to note that,a gee hair is considered by all trades men as an accurate form of measurement. It's true.
