Title: Barrel: we need Stillage
Post by: admin on May 04, 2013, 11:36:13 AM
Anyone handy with wood that could knock up two of these. I have a template. They're needed to support the barrel.

From the holes drilled  in the top two pieces of wood itl looks like you bolted the upper curved piece of wood to the lower piece. They appear very close to the edge of the wood,  hope they can take the weight of the barrel?

There are also a couple of screws ( 6 * 70mm in deep counter bores) nearer the ends from the underside that you cannot see plus the joint is glued. The two little top pieces are more loaded in sheer!

Something like this might also work if the curve is too much trouble.

What weight is going to be in those barrels when they are full. That set up might not be strong enough.
