Finally got around to the "first" brew today - my son was very interested, so I got him to do all the work (not that there's much with a kit), and just told him what to do. Delighted with himself, so he's thinking of coming down to Mulligan's tomorrow night. And he wants to come to the next TOG brewday ...

They're disguised inside a Dunnes carrier bag. I'm not sure how the management would react to me using the work fridge to store beer. ;) :)
I'm complete reckless with the work fridge. The bottles are in the main compartment in plain sight along with several vials of yeast. Loads of hops in the freezer... ::)
It's become an ongoing joke in work that I keep storing homebrew in the fridge in the canteen. I haven't graduated to storing yeast yet but you never know ;)
Do you lads think you could get away with converting the work fridge into a kegerator? Put the taps round the back?? ;)
think I will drop by. thought I wasn't going to be around.
not sure what I have bottled but no doubt i have something.
also bit of a last minute long shot does anyone have 100g fuggles they would sell or swap me?
and before someone asks, no I don't use the fridge at work!

don't you keep bodies in your work fridge.
See you all in an hour, I'll be bringing an "off" beer for comment.
Thanks for a great evening lads. Really enjoyed it.
+1.
I really liked Rossa's single-hopped Bramling Cross ale. It's the kind of hop that should work very well in an American style IPA with something like Centennial. I'll definitely be getting some (maybe off Rossa if he's up for swapping ;))
Tube is "Bramling X King" and had 5Kg all on his own at one stage :)
+1 to that, Dr Jacoby.
I have to say that Rossa's Bramling X ale was the best beer of the evening, by far. I've never tasted a beer quite like it - it was like the most intense berry (blackberries, redcurrants) flavour you could imagine. If I was just handed the beer without knowing what was in it, I'd have probably said it was a fruit beer, to be honest.
Did anyone take any pictures of the night other than Conor's meat platter? :D
I've got nothing but the meatarerian starter board is worthy of an article all by itself...

I may write that article yet. I'm still having dreams about it... :-X
I have a final draft of the tasting up in wordpress. Its 99.9% ready and just needs someone to have a read though it before publishing.
The meat platter features heavily in it. :)
