Ah it doesn't matter now, I was more worried that we were pissing staff off by drinking our beer in the pub!

Finally got around to the "first" brew today - my son was very interested, so I got him to do all the work (not that there's much with a kit), and just told him what to do. Delighted with himself, so he's thinking of coming down to Mulligan's tomorrow night. And he wants to come to the next TOG brewday ...

Lads, I have spare slants available if anyone would like some at the meet tomorrow:

- WLP001 (California Ale)
- WLP800 (Pilsner Lager Yeast)

They were made from fresh from White Lab vials. Let me know if you'd like one and I'll bring it along.

They're disguised inside a Dunnes carrier bag. I'm not sure how the management would react to me using the work fridge to store beer.  ;) :)

I'm complete reckless with the work fridge. The bottles are in the main compartment in plain sight along with several vials of yeast. Loads of hops in the freezer... ::)

It's become an ongoing joke in work that I keep storing homebrew in the fridge in the canteen. I haven't graduated to storing yeast yet but you never know  ;)

Do you lads think you could get away with converting the work fridge into a kegerator? Put the taps round the back??  ;)

+1.

I really liked Rossa's single-hopped Bramling Cross ale. It's the kind of hop that should work very well in an American style IPA with something like Centennial. I'll definitely be getting some (maybe off Rossa if he's up for swapping  ;))

Tube is "Bramling X King" and had 5Kg all on his own at one stage :)

+1 to that, Dr Jacoby.

I have to say that Rossa's Bramling X ale was the best beer of the evening, by far. I've never tasted a beer quite like it - it was like the most intense berry (blackberries, redcurrants) flavour you could imagine. If I was just handed the beer without knowing what was in it, I'd have probably said it was a fruit beer, to be honest.

I've got nothing but the meatarerian starter board is worthy of an article all by itself...

I have a final draft of the tasting up in wordpress. Its 99.9% ready and just needs someone to have a read though it before publishing.

The meat platter features heavily in it. :)
