What about a thread too for those seeking work?
Also Keep in mind that than Fransiscan Well is going to be expanding in the near future and will probably need 5 or 6 new brewers. It might be a bit early yet, but I'll ask Shane where people might send their CV's.
When people are planning a new Micro Brewery set up they can go for a micro-biologists or they could go for a well trained homebrewer. Many homebrewers are more trained and experienced at brewing many styles of beer and using many different varieties of hops. They may lack the letters after their name but be a better brewer. ;)
That's my plan!! Learn the ropes in buckets and barrels and then go commercial!!!!
As me Da used to say " Shure I might as well dream here as in bed"
Of course winning an odd National Homebrew competition can look good on your CV. ;)
Not a brewery. but Brew Dock are recruiting.

The norbrook brewery is a massive setup btw. Haven't seen it yet but the fitters and welders were telling me about it. It's far from micro scale and is getting money thrown at it as far as I can see.
Yeah. Don't know what they're making yet but they've been building it this last few months.

O'Hara's are hiring. http://www.carlowbrewing.com/our-brewery/careers/
They're looking for an assistant brewer with experience, but if you've not got that I'd say there's definitely potential for a homebrewer to get a foot in the door as a brewery operative.

The US definition of Craft doesn't apply here. Colors could call themselves a craft brewery if they liked, never mind FW

What are the ballpark salaries for brewers and assistant brewers anyway?
Asked a brewer friend there and he quoted €25-30k but depends on hours and overtime policy for festivals etc. Extra €5-10k for a more senior brewer.

Apologies, I had a poster attachment fail to upload. Yes, the job is located in Stationworks brewery, Newry.
Good stuff. I'm sure it's a good company to work for, especially if anyone had aspirations to move abroad or into distilling.
