Title: AG Setup
Post by: BrewBilly on May 16, 2013, 07:04:31 PM
Hi Chaps

Just wondering what your thoughts would be on my proposed setup going AG.

I am busy following the following:

http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-Your-Own-Brewery-for-Under-100-STEP-1-/?ALLSTEPS

I am busy with the mash tun and going to move onto the boiler afterwards.

I do plan on saving a bit of crown to buy a proper stainless steal boiler with thermometer and sight glass etc,I just want to get setup up and then can move on and refine my gear.

Let me know what you think of the link.

Cheers
BrewBilly - AKA Andy

I had a Mashtun for the past year much like that.
As it was a Mashtun I used Qualpex pipe. (Qualpex is not for boiling)
I picked up a pound shop steel bowl in which I punched lots of holes with a hammer and nail.
I lagged it with a camping mat although my kids noticed their quilts gone missing on occasion...

One thing...
There is a 'stop' in the Brass tank connector, you may need to file this out.
I had to for Qualpex to get it all the way through.

I've no experience of that sort of set up - but it looks great. Will definitely be bookmarking for the future!
