Title: 750ml Bottles
Post by: Kieran the Human on May 27, 2013, 03:44:04 PM
Hey guys,
Recently bought a bottle of White Gypsy RIS and after testing the empty bottle with the bench capper it seems it takes a regular 26mm crown cap with a regular capper bell.

Just wondering if anyone knows what other 750ml bottles (Prosecco etc.) are out there that don't require 29mm caps. I'm planning on bottling my high ABV beers in these bottles to give as gifts because they look damn fancy  8)

Seal them with wax too. They'll look class!

Cheers guys,

I'll definitely give the wax a go but maybe not the swingtops for gifts - knowing my crowd I'd never see the bottles again  ;D

I bottled an imperial amber in sparkling wine bottles with champagne corks and cages worked really well and looked great.

I was thinking of corking and cageing my Barrel beers, I was looking at buying 750ml bottles, but they aren't as cheap as I might like!

They would cost around €0.80 cent I think each for belgian bottle cork and cage... but you'd need to buy ~1,500! Just a bit too much of a stretch for a group buy?!

I think they'd look great as gifts!

Can ye not persuade the B&C to start selling Jenlain?
Or, Lurk round posh champagne breakfasts!

BTW: This Friday we (MRFC) are hosting a Champagne breakfast! If you want I can probably get the bottles! 40 Plus!

That would be great if you don't mind holding on to them for a couple of weeks, if that's a problem I'll leave them to someone else to claim! I'm sure there will be plenty of champagne opportunities between now and Christmas!

I also want to make a trip out to the legendary malahide man cave with the glycol cooled barrel!

I did the O'Hara's tour a few weeks ago and they had a load of 750ml flip tops left over from their recent bottling of whiskey aged Leann Follain. I could ask Seamus and see if we could get a decent price on them?

That would be great, I will sweet talk my driver to get a lift out to you, hopefully next weekend!

These would be great if they are only going to waste!

Padraic, I am now told these may be Prossecco bottles ( like champers but Italian and often blue )

Will put them to one side anyways

Worth having a look at anyway I'd say! Hang on to them for me!
