I've noticed a few club announcements recently on the forum advertising club events that don't contain details of the location and format (or don't supply a link to the relevant "upcoming events" entry). I know this is largely because most members are aware of the details already but for people who might want to pop along for the first time etc. it would be helpful to include more details if possible. Just a suggestion!

What about a template that should be followed by annnouncers? Sticky at the top of forums.
A sticky in all the "Homebrew Communities" forums is a good idea. The organisers/committee members could have a link to their specific community sticky in their signature?
I would have liked to have seen something like this before I first ventured to the Franciscan Well, on my own, with my pockets clanging with beer bottles!
A template could look like this (please add/delete what you think)
General Brew Meeting / Tasting Guide
Location:
The Bull Micks, Savage Eye St.
Usual meeting day:
2nd Thurdsay of the month (see forum for exact announcements)
Usual start time:
8.00pm
Protocol:
All new members welcome
If you have some brews for tasting, bring along 2 bottles of each.
To thank the publican for allowing us to host these meetings, it is courtesy to buy two drinks from the house.
Organiser/Contact:
Mick The Bull
In some forum software the sticky can have a button for the template directly, I know I was on a fishing forum before that had it for fishing reports.
I don't remember which software it was though.

Off topic :P
Im sure a lot of you prob know this... but the guy Mcsavage (who I dont like, but some of the newer stuff he's doing is good) modelled that barman character on, owns and works in the H'Penny Bridge Inn.
He's there a lot, drop in if you're passing, you'll see the likeness imediately. He's gas!
I totally agree and I am one of the worst offenders! How does my modified post look in the Capital Brewers forum?

Can anyone suggest any additional information that could be added?

Is he the guy who changes the telly whenever "God save the queen" is played before matches?
Probably :)
He's a messer.....and he looks a bit, and talks a bit, like Mick the bull :)
