Title: Adjuncts/Extracts/Other interesting things
Post by: Bill_00 on June 18, 2013, 01:20:48 PM
Hey folks

So, been considering doing a Badger Golden Gloryesque brew (a Magic Hat No.9 clone to be specific). It uses peach extract and the like.

However, apart from some Torrified Wheat in my last brew, I've never really just adjuncts or additional stuff like this.

Just wondering what peoples experiences of such things are and anything I should watch out for? Hints/Tips?

Also considering a Russian Imperial, which I know you tend to use peppercorns and things with.

We've used raspberries in a few brews and after a few attempts we now freeze them, thaw them, bring to a simmer for 5-10 minutes in a pan and then sieve to make a paste. It has been the best way so far - some earlier attempts resulted in colourless, tasteless floating raspberry flesh in the beer!
