Title: Brewferm
Post by: Mick_K on June 20, 2013, 07:40:16 PM
I'm just firing on a Brewferm Abbey kit for Christmas tippling. The very comprehensive instructions seem to suggest transferring to secondary for a couple of weeks and then again! before bottling. I know these kits are meant to be a bit special n'all, but is this absolutely necessary? Seems like a lot of washing up for 9 litres of ale...

wouldnt worry about it. depending on how long you're gonna leave it in the fv, i might rack into a secondary fermentor once. but only if its gonna be longer than 3-4 wks total

i would be worried about infecting it by racking it that many times.
