Title: Hello from Galway
Post by: Catherine on June 24, 2013, 08:55:39 PM
Hello everybody.

I'm fairly new to homebrewing, and I've found some great advice on this site so far. I'm starting off with kits. I've done a Coopers Pilsner and Blonde Ale, a Bulldog Secial Export Ale, and I've a Muntons Wheat Beer going at the moment. I'm going to do another one of those next, but add orange and coriander to it, as suggested by LordEoin.

Welcome to the forum, and best of luck with your kits! Listen to the great advice of everyone here and try to make it along to some of the meetups in Galway! I find the social side of homebrewing is as fun as the brewing!

I look forward to meeting you on Saturday at the BJCP tasting!

Welcome aboard doc  :) I've done 2 of the bulldog kits now, they're super easy.

I've done a muntons wheat with orange peel and coriander too. That batch didn't last long. You won't be sorry.

Hello

Another newbie here.

Fermenting a Bulldog IPA at moment. After 14 days it is no where near the bottling level on the hydrometer.
It's been stored at room temperature - so between 20 - 23 degrees the whole time. I think the reading was 1022. And from the starting gravity it is at 4.2% at the moment.  It tasted quite nice at this point

Do you think I should leave it longer or just go ahead and bottle it now ? Going to use Coopers carbonation drops.

Thanks for your advice
