Poll
Question:
Should we change this date as it clashs with the brewing convention?
Option 1: Yes
votes: 7
Option 2: No
votes: 2
If you're not doing the course, please don't vote! (Cana mod police this for me?)
I know of 3-4 from the course who are going to the convention so it would be good to think about moving this date out into the future?
EDIT - Just to confirm this date would be set in a few months time not in the next few weeks! (October or November probably)
I can't do it the week before either. 27th might be ok
27th we're at the mini maker faire!
My next free saturday is August 3rd! (Bank holiday weekend, so probably won't suit others!)
20ths only date i can do it on
I was actually thinking more of sending the date out to a less busy time like November or something?!?
That will work yes. Just skip July and continue in August
Ok by me
yeah, that sounds better- bit close to july to be rearranging july date for another wkend in that month- nov sounds good. mayb a sat/sun 2 dayer?
Another option might be to see how we get on on Saturday and take a vote after. The plus side is you won't have "non-attendees" voting.
Id prefer to shift it back to autumn, instead of trying to reschedule in July
Looks conclusive, we'll skip July and arrange another date in autumn sometime! I'll follow this up later in the week!
One question about the tasting exam.
As each beer is presented you are told the Cat & Sub-Cat. Are you also given the descriptive Name, like:
"Here is beer number 3 it's a Cat 11, Subcat C Ale, An example of a Northern English Brown Ale"
or is just H"ere's a 15C"!!
You get the name and category, I'm hoping for "1A - Lite American Lager" to be amongst the beers on the day!
ha! you see american light lager just won the national homebrew comp in states over the weekend! crazy!
TG!
As I am off on a family holiday to M/Cr for 2 weeks (and very few of MY toys are portable) ( :( ) the only hobby I can bring with me is the auld lap top ( essential as it charges the dog ) so its going to be major BJCP info gathering/culling/distilling also perry cider tree varietys for the rugby club :)
Also:
What other presentations would you like me to prepare?
Happy to do Sections: IV.D: Yeast and IV.E: Hops also IV.F "Trouble shooting" ( the chemistry bit).
Let me know as I can do the legwork over the next 2 weeks
Will, you're some man!

It's not the way I'd spend my holiday but each to their own! (Coming from the man who spends most of his free time reading about beer!
You are very welcome to look at and prepare notes on any section that interests you will!
Just let me know so were not doubling up! That said I am taking a week off from bjcp notes this week! As they are wrecking my head!
And thank you very much for the kind offer! I really appreciate it!
Ok so, I'll do the notes and present D, E & F
I assume we are doing the talks in the order of the study guide? But we don't have to!

I don't think there is a need to follow the study guide, I think whichever talk we have someone willing to do?!
